Modern Family is an American Mockumentary situation comedy television show. The show premiered its first season in the year 2009. The eleventh season of this show is on air and has received good reviews till now. Modern Family revolves around Jay Pritchett and his family, the drama and problem they face in their everyday lives.

Introducing the Characters

1. Jay Pritchett

Jay Pritchett is the owner of the Closets and Blinds and he is the patriarch of the Pritchett Family. He is formerly married to DeDe Pritchett, but later gets divorced and marries Gloria. Jay is the father of Claire, Mitchell, and Joe. He has a step-son, Manny.

2. Gloria Pritchett

Gloria is from Columbia. She is married to Jay and has two sons, Manny and Joe. Gloria was previously married to Javier Delgado. She has a Columbian accent, which makes everybody hard to understand her.

3.Manny Delgado

Manny is Gloria’s and Javier’s son. He acts very maturely for his age. Manny initially had a crush on Haley, but that changed over time.

4. Joe Pritchett

His real name is ‘Fulgencio Joseph’. Joe is Manny’s half-brother. He is very cute, fun loving and calm kid.

5. Claire Dunphy

Claire is Jay’s and DeDe’s daughter. She is married to Phill and has three children- Haley, Alex, and Luke. She is very competitive in nature, unlike her brother Mitchell. Claire was a homemaker, but then starts working for her father.

6. Phil Dunphy

Phill is a Real Estate agent in California. He is married to Claire and is a very fun-loving and caring dad. He shares special bonds with Luke and loves both his daughters. Phill tries hard to impress his father-in-law.

7. Haley Dunphy

Haley is the eldest child of the Phill and Claire and she was conceived before they got married. She is very pretty but not so smart.

8. Alex Dunphy

Alex is the middle child of Claire and Phill. She is very smart and concentrates only on studies. She is competitive like her mother.

9. Luke Dunphy

Luke is the youngest son of Phill and Claire. He is not so smart and acts immaturely and is very mischevious. He shares a special relationship with his father.

10. Mitchell Pritchett

Mitchell is the son of Jay and DeDe. He is gay and marries his longtime partner Cameron. He is the adoptive father of Lily. Mitchell work as a lawyer.

11. Cameron Tucker

Cameron is Mitchell’s husband. He worked as a clown, Fizbo. Then he went on to work in a high school as a music teacher and football coach.

12. Lily Tucker-Pritchett

Lily is Vietnamese and is the adoptive daughter of Cameron and Mitchell. She is beautiful and entertaining. But she can also be mean sometimes.
