Harry Potter Poster Collection – All Parts
Let’s get going with the first part of the movie where it all began.
Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone Posters (2001)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie was in the cinemas on the 16th of November in 2001. As I have already told you this was based on the books with the same titles, but the whole book series was still in progress.
2. The Philosopher’s Profit
The movie made more than $950 million on a budget of just $125 million. I think the producers must have predicted its success because this big budget was not so normal in those days.
3. Almost An Animated Movie
The movie was almost another amazing creation of Stephen Spielberg, but without a real soul in it. There was a (kind of) fight between Terry Gilliam and Chris Columbus for directing the movie. But even before Terry was in the mind of Warner Bros., they approached Spielberg, but he wanted to make one single animated movie of all the Rowling’s books. FYI, Chris Columbus was the chosen one.
4. Only British Can We Be Wizard
Soon after Warner Bros. bought the rights of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, Rowling convinced them that all the cast members of the film should be British only. Though there was not a very big reason behind it as she wanted British actors because the storyline of Harry Potter takes place in Britain and there are many things which only a British know about, like any particular culture or habit.
5. Philosopher, Not For Americans
As the makers thought that Americans are not familiar with the term “Philosopher’s Stone” they changed it with “Sorcerer’s Stone”. Every scene where characters say “philosopher” had to be changed with “sorcerer”. I neither knew about Philosopher’s stone nor about Sorcerer’s stone, still enjoyed the movie. Americans have to be pampered a lot! No offense, I know you guys have the biggest weapon in the world, talking about Trump obviously.
6. The Star Owl
The owl of Harry, Hedwig was selected for the movie even before Daniel Redcliff was considered for the role of Harry Potter. Yeah, Hedwig was an important role.
7. Homework Is A Real Problem
The child actors used to do their real school homework on the set to make the school setting real. Great! They were making money while doing their homework, I’m not even allowed to listen to music.
When I was a kid, I used to think his name is Snake. But really, Alan Rickman did a great work as the character Severus Snape real. Rowling even told him the back story of Snape even before she wrote it in the novel so that he can play his character more efficiently. Alan didn’t tell about it to anyone. R.I.P Alan Rickman, died in 2016.
9. Sharing The Birthday
Harry Potter’s birthday lies on 31st July sharing it with J.K. Rowling’s birthday. No doubt, Rowling did it intentionally while writing the novel but because she considers the fictional Harry Potter character as her own son. She was even offered the role of Harry’s mother in the movie, but she refused saying that she is not into acting even if it is just standing and smiling.
10. Founder of Hogwarts
The Hogwarts University was founded in 990 A.D. by two witches and 2 wizards. The houses are based on the powers each founder have. This was just the first year, the wizard course is not completed yet.
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets Posters (2002)
1. Theatrical Info
The release date of the movie was 3 November 2002. It was out in the cinema much sooner than the expectation of the audience. Makers made and released the movie soon after the release of the first installment because they were afraid that the kids will grow up.
2. The Chamber Of Galleons
The movie bagged over $850 million on a budget of $100 million.
3. What Is Galleon
You muggle, don’t know about Galleon? Knut, Sickle, and Galleon are a wizarding currency which is bronze, silver, and gold respectively and hence in increasing order.
4. Who Is Muggle?
You Muggle, don’t know about Muggle? Muggle is a term used in the movie to refer anyone who doesn’t know anything about magic and wizarding.
5. Adobe, I mean, a Dobby!
No, this is not Gollum from Lord Of The Rings, although I always thought so, that guy is much more disgusting than him. Dobby is a servant of the Malfoy family, and I really don’t know what he has to serve, he always spoils every work, until it all ends.
Want a pet snake, shout out the title aloud. The movie includes all kind of fantasy creatures and from fantasy creatures, I remembered something. Let’s talk about that in the end of the post. Serpensortia is a spell, which is used to create snakes. Yeah, I know that info was really useless for you.
Parseltongue, which is hard just to pronounce, is a language of snakes and Harry Potter is fluent in it. Although some of its references are shown in the first part, it is focused on this one. How does he know this language? You will get to know about it in the movies.
8. This Shot Was Too Expensive
There is a scene where Harry and Ron crash Mr. Wesley’s car. The car was Ford Anglias, and 14 Anglias were destroyed just for that one scene.
Although, you have already seen them playing Quidditch game, which is the game focused on a flying ball, in the first movie but does you know that this has become an actual game now. People play it in the different parts of the world, however, they just hold the broom with their one hand, as they are Muggles only. I can imagine how funny it would be to see them playing it.
10. All Exams Have Been Cancelled
There cannot be happier ending when at the end of the movie the headmaster say that all the exams have been canceled. Dumbledore announces that “In the light of recent events, as a school treat, all exams have been canceled” and everyone applauded. Destroy my whole school building, they will make us sit on the road and write the answer sheet.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Posters (2004)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie released on 4 June 2004, after almost 2 years of the release of The Chamber Of Secret.
2. Azkaban’s Treasure
The movie made more than $750 million on box office on a budget of around $130 million. It is the only Harry Potter movie not to gross over $800 million.
3. Absolutely Not “Riddikulus”
The movie was rated 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and is considered as the best movie of the whole series by Collider.com. Link to that post is given at the end.
4. Prisoner Of Azkaban, But No Azkaban
Although the title of the movie is “The Prisoner of Azkaban”, the Azkaban prison is not shown in any scene of the movie. The very first time we see the prison is in the 5th part, which is, “The Order Of The Phoenix”.
5. The Falling Eyes
Alfonso Cuarón, the director of the movie, had an idea that when the Dementors approach the train, the rain will turn into ice. The team misheard “ice” as “eyes”. They prepared everything for the “falling eyes from the sky”. However, Alfonso corrected them at the last moment.
6. The Future Of The Series
J.K. Rowling said she got goosebumps while watching the movie as there were so many references to events in the final two books. Furthermore, she stated, “people are going to look back on the film and think that those were put in deliberately as clues.”
7. Back In Time
I already told you, these movie series contain each and every fantasy you can think of and even those that you cant. Hermione has a time traveling watch, which helps them to go back in time and change some events. This was really one of my favorite part in the whole movie series.
8. Newt Scamander
When Marauder’s map was opened for the first time, we can clearly see a name “Newt Scamander”. Scamander is the author of a book “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”, in the Harry Potter universe. Although he is not a professor at Hogwarts, his book is still mandatory to read in Hogwarts. He got his own movie with the same title as his book in 2016.
Dementors are the demons which eat human happiness to live. CGI team spent 6 months creating the dementors. And what Harry did? Just killed them!
10. Just A Little Homework
Kids want to join the movie industry because we think it does not require much study. But however, all the three main actors, Emma Watson, Daniel Redcliffe and Rupert Grint had a homework to write an essay on their respective characters. Emma wrote a 16-page essay, whereas Denial wrote just one page for it and Rupert didn’t even bother to do that too. But their actions tell us that pages cant define our talent, though, Emma was the most efficient one in that too.
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire Posters (2005)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie was in the theaters on 18 November 2005.
The box office collection of the movie is pretty obvious now because it’s always almost the same. However, the collection of the movie was around $890 million on a budget of almost $150 million.
3. My Personal Favorite
The movie consists of a part when Harry and Ron struggle to get a partner for a formal dance event. This is my favorite part. Why?
4. Because I Loved It
As they struggle with getting a partner, basically a girlfriend which tells me that I’m not the only one who is single. This part of the movie is the best because it has so many funny moments. And hence, it’s my favorite movie.
The movie introduces us with the Lord Voldemort. Although he has appeared in the first installment, in this movie, he has returned and with his own body. P.S. I don’t know why everyone calls him “Lord” Voldemort.
6. Emma’s Fate
Rowling interviewed Emma on phone for the very first time. She met her when the shoot was started. Rowling said if she met Emma before the casting, she would have rejected her. According to her, all the characters in the book were geeky and there was no sign of geekiness in Denial, Rupert, and Emma.
7. This Was Perfect Match
J.K. Rowling said that this movie project a better version of Harry Potter which resembles the Harry Potter from the book as Harry has long hairs in the book.
8. The Bumblebee
J.K. Rowling said “Dumbledore” is an old word for “Bumblebee” and she chose this word as she pictured him humming to himself, which we can see in many scenes in the movie series.
9. I’d Take the Dragon Now!
One big dragon was constructed on the set of the film. This dragon was partially made from the basilisk puppets seen in the Chamber Of Secrets. Moreover, this fake dragon was able to blow real fire out of its mouth.
10. Everything’s Gonna Change now
At the end of the movie, Hermione asks Harry “Everything’s gonna change now, isn’t it?”. This was said in reference to Voldemort’s return but it was much deeper than that. She was also referring to the upcoming movie’s plot, which is much darker than the other ones. The next movie didn’t have this much humor or romance, but it was totally changed, the movie’s environment took a U-turn, everyone is serious in the next upcoming movies. And we can expect much more darkness.
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix Posters (2007)
1. Theatrical Info
The was in the theaters on 12 July 2007. Though it was already premiered on 28 June in Tokyo.
2. Box Office Collection
The movie made over $900 million on a budget of $150 million.
3. Everything’s Changed
In the last movie, Hermione says “Everything’s gonna change now”, which is totally true. This movie is too dark compared to the last one.
4. Dumbledore’s Army
When Hogwarts had its new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher, who only teaches theories through textbooks, Harry, Hermione and Ron start a secret group to train students practical Defence Against The Dark Arts.
5. A Little Love
Harry had his first kiss in the movie with his crush on Cho Chang. Although, the relationship didn’t work as Cho was still in love with Cedric, who was killed by You-Know-Who.
6. We Fly, Of Course
Harry and his friends go to London at the Department Of Mysteries by flying on Thestrial, which are some kind of dragons, to save Sirius. There, everyone faces Voldemort and his other Death Eaters.
7. Department Of Mysteries
The set of Department of Mysteries took 22 weeks to make and it appeared for only 10 minutes in the movie. Mobile phones were not allowed in that area as it was a threat to explode the set.
8. Serious Sirius
Sirius Black, Harry Potter’s father’s best friend, is the only family Harry got. However, he dies in the fight with Voldemort. But Voldemort was not the one who killed him but Bellatrix was. Harry had a chance to kill her, but because Voldemort was telling him to kill her, he didn’t. Stupid kid!
9. Dolores Umbridge
Umbridge was the new Defence Against the Dark Art teacher. She later became the Headmistress of the school after Dumbledore was fired, giving her power to get control over all the students and teachers. She was again removed from all of her positions in Hogwarts.
10. Neither Can Live While The Other Survives
Dumbledore is back at his position at Hogwarts. While explaining to Harry why he was distancing himself from Harry, that it would lessen the risk of Voldemort using their connection, Harry replies with the phrase “Neither one live while the other survives”.
Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Posters (2009)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie released on 7th of July in 2009. Need not to mention, it was one of the most awaited movie of the year, though every Harry Potter movie was.
2. Half-Blood Money
The movie earned over $900 million on a budget of $250 million which is just double of the first movie’s budget. However, the collection is still almost the same.
3. Much More Colorful
Although the posters show them all serious over something, I still consider it much more colorful movie or say, joyful movie than the last one.
But do not expect this to be much joyful, because someone’s gonna lie and someone’s gonna die.
5. Probably The Biggest Fans
Warner Brothers received death threats as they pushed the release date to 2009 when the movie was scheduled to be released in 2008.
6. And The Oscar Goes To…
Although, not the winner but it was the only Harry Potter movie nominated for the Oscar Award for the Best Cinematography Academy Award.
7. Dumbledore Is Gay
Come on man, this is the 21st century. Even wizards can be gay. In an interview, J.K. Rowling revealed that she always considered him gay. She also said that he always loved Grindelwald. However, it was a tragic love story as Grindlewald was an antagonist in the movie.
8. What Would Happen If Muggles Found Hogwarts
If a Muggle found the Hogwarts or the whole Diagon Ally place, all they will see is an old neglected building with a signboard of “DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE”. But I don’t think Muggles obey a lot.
9. Who Is The Half-Blood Prince
The whole movie is based on the Half-Blood Prince. However, I would not tell you who is he, or he really is “he” or “she”, but all I can tell you is that movie has a really twisting ending.
10. Rowling’s Personal Favorite
When the movie was in the cinemas, in an interview, Rowling said that this one was her favorite movie from all the 6 of them released till then. And I totally agree with her. But the next two are not less either, I mean, not both of them… you will know.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallow Part-1 Posters (2010)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie released on 19 November of 2010. They were rated 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I think they make mistakes sometimes.
2. The Deathly Collection
The movie made over $900 million (I really don’t know why they don’t make more or less than that amount) on a budget of around $250 million.
3. My Opinion
I know, I know… you don’t give a shit about my opinion but I really think that this one is the worst of them all.
4. The Darkest One
This one is the darkest of them all. In both ways, say it in the sense of colors of the movie or the storyline. I consider this as a reason for hating this installment of the movie series.
5. What Dumbledore’s Wand Made Of?
J.K. Rowling once said that she feared only one question, which is, “What Dumbledore’s Wand made of?”. She continued, “I had this elder thing in my mind, cause elder has this association in folklore, it’s the dead tree.” However, no one asked her this question ever. And, yes, that is Hogwarts in the poster.
6. The Best Villain
7. A Lovely Twist
J.K. Rowling herself admitted it that she should have made the lovely pair of Hermione and Harry fall in love with each other and she regrets it. However, I think she was absolutely right while doing it as we all thought at the beginning that they both will fall in love with each other and it surprised us.
8. Fan Theory
Hermione Granger ends up falling in love with Ron Weasley. Although the author admits her mistake, fans are there to cover for her. According to fan theory, Hermione did love Harry, but she was afraid that he will die which will eventually result in heartbreak. So, she chose Ron. Ron will definitely not happy knowing it.
9. Avada Kedavra (Or Abra Ka Dabra)
There are many magical spells in the movie and this is my the third favorite spell. While watching the movie, I thought they are saying “Abra Ka Dabra”, but then I realized how could they use this type of kids spell to kill the most powerful man on the earth.
10. A Great Ending
Although, I said the movie was the worst one I really loved the ending. There is a time when just want to quit the movie, to stop the torture, but then comes a time when you only want to leave all your work and just watch the movie. I would recommend watching the movie only after a good sleep.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallow Part-2 Posters (2011)
1. Theatrical Info
The movie was released on 15 July 2011. The box office collection was biggest this time. They bagged more than a freaking billion (around 1.3 billion) on a budget of $250 million.
2. 7 Books, 8 Movies
This was majorly for the reason that the book contained too many events but I think money plays a bigger role in it.
3. I Open At The End
First Harry Potter book was published in 1998, this is the same year the Battle of Hogwarts was fought. At this, Rowling said, “I open at the end”.
Harry starts calling Voldemort as You-Know-Who in the Deathly Hallow movies. This is because of the reason that Voldemort can trace anyone who calls his name. I’m sure, if it was Deadpool at Harry’s place, he would have called him Volde-the-ducking-Mort.
This is my second favorite spell in the whole movie series. How cool it is to say “Stupify”. It is used to stun someone and it is “sort of wizard’s bread and butter, really”.
6. Trust No One
You should really don’t trust anyone in the film. Anyone can be good or bad.
7. Your Eyes Are Like Your Mother
The movie reveals many amazing secrets which will make you go stupify. And one of the facts is that Harry’s eyes are like his mother, nothing like his father. Watch the movie and you will know what I’m saying.
8. The Battle Of Hogwarts
At the end of the movie, the battle of Hogwarts is fought between Voldemort and the whole of Hogwarts. And You-Know-Who wins, I mean, you know who wins at the end.
9. Dumbledore’s Army
Remember that Dumbledore’s Army? It still exists in Hogwarts and helps in the Battle of Hogwarts. This fight is the most amazing part of the whole movies series and it had to be. At the end of the movie, you can see grown-up Harry, Hermione and Ron, and some new kids too including “Albus Severus Potter”. Watch the movie, you will know who he is.
10. It All Ends
If you are a fan of the movie series, which you will eventually become, then you will cry out loud seeing the last day of their shooting. Everyone at the set was so connected to each other, don’t know it was a magic or real love, but it was very strong. You can see them in the video below.
As I already said, this is one of the best movie series in history. You will not realize when they all grew up. All the actors and actresses did so damn good to bring their characters to life. You will feel a connection with the characters, especially Hermione.
Talking about Hermione, Rupert Grint and Daniel Redcliffe both admits that they had a crush on Emma Watson, but who didn’t?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is also based on the novel written by J.K. Rowling and from the same universe of Harry Potter and there can be a movie totally based on Voldemort’s life.
Coming back to the movie, I totally recommend this movie series, however, there are many boring scenes, but they eventually become interesting.
