Stephen Strange was a neurosurgeon who had a horrible car crash. During his journey of healing, he discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. According to Cumberbatch, Strange was an arrogant character. He realizes that he actually knows nothing.

3. Christine Palmer
Christine Palmer is an emergency surgeon and in the film, she is the ex-girlfriend of Doctor Strange. She initially tries to help Strange to move on in life after the accident as he damaged his hands permanently. But leaves as he felt that she was pitying him. Later on, Christine performs emergency medical procedures on Strange.
4. Wong
Wong is also a master of the mystics and he protects all the valuable books and relics at Kamar-Taj. He is described as Strange’s Asian tea-making servant. His presence was quite strong in the movie. But in the movie he is a drill sergeant rather than just a manservant.
5. Kaecilius
Kaecilius is a very important character in the movie. He is a master of the mystics but he broke away from the Ancient One. He is a combination of several other antagonists from the Marvel comics universe. This character is a man of ideas with watertight logic. He is a supervillain.
6. The Ancient One
The Ancient One is a Celtic mystic who is also the mentor of Strange. Doctor Strange understands that the Ancient One’s immortality is the result of her drawing energy of the Dark Dimension which prompted Mordo to express disgust. She reflects that Strange will become the next sorceror once he can overcome his inner demons.

7. I Am Strange
After the horrifying accident, Strange learns about Jonathan Pangborn who is a paraplegic. He mysteriously regained his use of legs. Pangborn directs Strange to Kamar-Taj. At the place, Stephen meets Ancient One who agrees to train him, but his arrogance reminded her of her previous student Kaecilious.
8. The Man of Mystics
Strange starts learning that Earth is threatened by other dimensions. This threat is generated from three buildings called Sanctums which are in New York City, London and Hong Kong. Strange quickly start reading the book from where Kaecilius stole some pages.

Strange finds everything very fascinating and he is intrigued by all this new knowledge. But Mordo and Wong warn him for breaking the laws of nature.

Like all Marvel movies, this one also turned out to be a huge success. Fans were head over the heels with this fantastic production of Doctor Strange. Strange finally returns the eye to the Kamar- Taj. He starts living in the New York sanctum and continues his studies. In a mid-credit scene, Strange decides to help Thor who has brought his brother Loki to search for their Odin.
The film made a business of $677 million worldwide. It received praise and appreciation for its superb cast and superior visual techniques. Doctor Strange received an Academy Awards nomination for Best Visual Effects. Owing to its massive success, a sequel is already in the process. The second part of the movie named Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has a release date of May 7, 2021.
