Based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, Arrow is an American superhero television series. The series premiered in the United States on The CW on October 10, 2012, with international broadcasting taking place in late 2012 and primarily filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Arrow features billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who claimed to have spent five years shipwrecked on Lian Yu, a mysterious island in the North China Sea, before returning home to Starling City, He comes here to fight against crime and corruption as a secret vigilante with his choice of weapon, that is, Bow and Arrow.
Arrow has received generally positive reviews from critics. The series averaged about 3.68 million viewers over the course of the first season and received several awards and multiple nominations. The show focusses on the benevolence of Oliver Queen and his transformations over time, after having to spend all those years on the lone island.
Most episodes in the first five seasons have flashback scenes to the five years in which Oliver was missing. However, during season seven, flash-forward scenes twenty years ahead focus on Oliver’s children William and Mia.

1. Oliver Queen
He’s a rich billionaire who gets stranded on an island and the experiences there change him. Later, he comes back to his city as a changed man and decides to be a vigilante and save his city from bad guys. He’s broody and dark, with assassin skills, kills people if he has to.
2. Laurel Lance
She’s the attorney turned vigilante and also former girlfriend to Oliver Queen. Her character dies near the end of the fourth season. Cassidy was promoted back to series regular for the sixth season, appearing as the Earth-2 version of the character, known as Black Siren.
3. Tommy Merlyn
Best friend to Oliver and boyfriend to Laurel Lance. Tommy dies at the end of the first season’s finale. He portrayed his Earth-X doppelganger Prometheus in the sixth season crossover.
4. John Diggle/ Spartan
Oliver’s partner, confidant, and bodyguard, who becomes part of his vigilante team. Named after comic book writer Andy Diggle, and created specifically for the show, Diggle was designed to be Oliver’s “equal in many respects”.
5. Thea Queen/ Speedy
Oliver’s younger sister; based on a DC Comics character with similar traits. The character is later revealed to be the daughter of Malcolm Merlyn.
6. Moira Queen
Mother to Oliver and Thea who got murdered at the end of season 2.
7. Quentin Lance
Laurel and Sara’s father, and Starling City police detective. The character is partly based on the DC Comics character, Larry Lance. The character dies in the season six finale.
8. Felicity Smoak/ Overwatch
Originally an IT technician at Queen Consolidated who becomes part of Oliver’s vigilante team. She later becomes Oliver’s wife and stepmother to his son William. Felicity is focused, which makes her character overpowering.
9. Roy Harper/ Arsenal
He’s a character based on the DC Comics character of the same name. He is also Thea Queen’s romantic partner.
10. Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke
Slade is a mercenary and international terrorist. He is based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
11. Malcolm Merlyn/ Dark Archer
A wealthy businessman who is the father of Tommy Merlyn and Thea Queen. He serves as Oliver Queen’s nemesis.
12. Curtis Holt/ Mister Terrific
Holt is a technological savant, inventor and medal-winning Olympic decathlete, who works with Felicity at Palmer Technologies.
13. Adrian Chase/ Prometheus

Based on the DC Comics characters Adrian Chase and Prometheus. Chase is the new Star City district attorney later revealed to be the arch-villain Prometheus.
14. Rene Ramirez/ Wild Dog
Dishonorably discharged marine with has an estranged daughter who joins Oliver’s vigilante team. He is based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
15. Dinah Drake/ Black Canary
An undercover detective in Central City who later joins Oliver’s team, taking on the mantle of Black Canary.
16. Ricardo Diaz/ Dragon
A drug lord recently released from incarceration who terrorizes Star City, and targets Oliver Queen.
17. Emiko Queen/ Green Arrow
Emiko is Oliver’s paternal half-sister and a vigilante. She takes over Oliver’s mantle as the Green Arrow after he is imprisoned.
18. Connor Hawke
He’s Ben Turner’s biological son, Diggle’s adopted son and an agent of Knight watch in the flash-forwards.

Final Thoughts – Arrow Poster Collection
Arrow is a DC Comic adaptation that revolves around the character transitions of Oliver Queen/ Arrow nearly after his return from the lone island. The show focuses on the mystery-solving and crime renunciations taken up by Oliver and his vigilante team in order to help the city. The basic love plot between Oliver and Felicity is sure to take you in much awe.
All in all, a perfect show to binge-watch over the weekends. Arrow receives a booming 85% Rotten Tomatoes along with an overall rating of 7.47/10.
