American Horror Story is an American anthology horror television series. Anthology refers to the series where each episode or season has a new set of characters and a new story. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are the creators of the show. The show was created for the cable channel FX.
Each season of American Horror Story is conceived as a miniseries as it contains its own set of characters, settings, and storylines. Some of the stories are said to be inspired by true events. The series till now has eight seasons and the ninth season is coming on September 18, 2019. It will also have a tenth season.
With its first season called Murder House, the series received a good response. The following seasons are Asylum season 2, Coven season 3, Freak Show season 4, Hotel season 5, Roanoke season 6, Cult season 7, and Apocalypse season 8.
The upcoming ninth season is called 1984. All the seasons revolve different horror stories which are spine chilling and definitely not for the faint-hearted ones.

American Horror Story Poster: Season 1
1. Welcome to Murder House
Murder House is the first season of American Horror Story. In the first season, the family of Dr. Harmon moved from Boston to Los Angeles to rebuild their lives. The new residence brings upon a number of shocking incidents on the family.
2. Mystery and Murder
The Harmon family consists of Vivien Harmon and her psychiatrist husband Ben. They also have a teenage daughter called Violet.
3. Tate Langdon
Tate Langdon is the sociopathic teenage ghost who lives in the Murder House. He develops a romantic interest for Violet Hermon.
4. Creators of Demon
Tate was responsible for a heinous crime. He was involved in a mass shooting in his school and took the lives of fifteen classmates.
5. Violet and Tate
In the murder house, Violet becomes a friend of Tate and they start dating. But later she discovers that Tate is actually a ghost. She is shocked that she even tried to even commit suicide.
6. Light and Darkness
Tate saves Violet from suicide. But later Violet confesses that she actually committed suicide and she too became a ghost.
7. Vivien Harmon
Vivien had a miscarriage after which they moved to Los Angeles. She later becomes pregnant with twins.

8. Welcome to Asylum
The second season Asylum begins in 1964 in a mental institution. It follows the story of the staff and inmates of the place.
9. Where Minds Have Their Own Twist
The newlywed couple Teresa and Leo explore the insane asylum Briarcliff Manor.
10. Bloody Face
Evan Peters portrays the character of Kit Walker who is the serial killer of the asylum. He is known as the Bloody Face. Kit is accused of killing various women including his own wife Alma.
11. Lana Winters
Lana Winters in an ambitious journalist. She takes up a disguise and comes to the asylum to take the interview of Bloody Face.
12. Who is the Real Monster?
Season two has the most famous dialogue. All monsters are human.
13. Sister Mary
Sister Mary works as a nun under sister Jude. She seeks to please everyone.
14. Sister Jude
Sister Jude has a dark past. Although she looks strict, she is actually caring and vulnerable.
15. Briarcliff Manor
This is the place where all the spooky things take place.

Elsa played by Jessica Lange dreams of finding a home for her monsters and decides to run a freak show to have fame and fortune for herself.
